Naomi Titus

Naomi is final year PhD student at UCT working on the populations of radio pulsars, and other neutron star populations, in the Magellanic Clouds.

Anke van Dyk

Anke is a Masters student at UCT, working on estimates of transient population sizes with Dr. Vanessa McBride and Prof. Paul Groot. She obtained both her undergraduate and BSc (Hons) degrees from the University of Cape Town and was part of the NASSP programme. During the Honours programme she worked on Deep Convolutional Neural Networks for classification of Radio Frequency Interference with Prof. Bruce Bassett and Dr. Alireza Vafaei Sadr.

Ryan Le Roux

Ryan is completing his Masters degree (working with Lee Townsend) at UCT. He’s working on an X-ray and optical search for massive X-ray binaries in the Magellanic Bridge.

Dr Itumeleng Monageng

Itu is a PDP funded postdoctoral researcher working at the SAAO. His research interested encompasses multiwavelength observations of all kinds of massive binaries, but with a particular focus on the gamma-ray binaries.

Dr Lee Townsend

Lee is a postdoctoral researcher based at UCT. He is leading efforts in commissioning MeerLICHT and his research interest are in massive X-ray binaries, particularly the orbital distribution of Be X-ray binaries, and the population of obscured X-ray binaries.
